Process Plant Engineer
Also known as: Chemical Engineer
Chemical Engineers in the minerals and energy industry design, develop and operate processes for converting and refining raw materials into products.
Duties
- improve/develop new processes and materials;
- design/ improve methods and equipment for extraction, filtration, distillation;
- prepare reports and detailed costings of changes/improvements;
- design/operate pilot plants;
- design plants and specify equipment/processes and layout;
- find faults in plant equipment and take corrective action to ensure safe operation;
- test the quality of the process/product;
- provide advice/information to management;
- may be involved in direction/coordination of plant operators

Salary
$75 000 - $110 000
